About the shop
Mark DuBois

President, Lloyd's Woodworking Inc.

Mark DuBois

Mark DuBois is the president and second-generation owner of Lloyd's Woodworking Inc., a family-owned custom woodworking and fabrication shop in Hudson, Massachusetts. Founded by his father, Lloyd DuBois, in 1969, the company has served churches, homeowners, businesses, contractors, architects, and institutions throughout Massachusetts and New England for more than five decades.

Mark began working in the family business in 1980. Like most people raised around a working New England shop, he didn't begin behind a desk. He started with finishing, assembly, loading and unloading trucks, maintaining machinery, cleaning the shop, and helping wherever he was needed. He also spent years handling deliveries and on-site installations, learning firsthand that quality workmanship doesn't end when a piece leaves the shop—it has to fit properly, function as intended, and look like it belongs in the space.

After graduating from high school, Mark joined Lloyd's Woodworking full-time and worked across nearly every part of the operation. That experience gave him a practical understanding of how a project moves from an initial conversation, photograph, drawing, or set of plans through material selection, fabrication, finishing, delivery, and final installation.

When his father retired in 2016, Mark took over the day-to-day operation of the company. As president, he continues the standards established by his father while expanding the range of work Lloyd's can provide.

Throughout his career, Mark has worked on church furnishings, custom cabinetry, architectural woodwork, furniture, doors, built-ins, and specialized millwork. His experience includes altars, pews, chairs, kneelers, communion rails, kitchen cabinetry, bathroom vanities, entertainment centers, tables, entry doors, and custom pieces for libraries, courthouses, schools, restaurants, nursing homes, and other public and commercial properties.

Mark also brings extensive experience to repair, refinishing, restoration, and replication projects. He understands that working with an older building or an existing piece requires more than simply making something new. The wood, construction, finish, proportions, and character of the original work all have to be considered. Sometimes the right answer is restoration. Sometimes it is careful replication or an entirely new piece designed to sit naturally beside what is already there.

Under Mark's leadership, Lloyd's Woodworking works directly with church committees, homeowners, property managers, builders, contractors, architects, and designers. His approach is straightforward: understand what the project needs to accomplish, be honest about the condition and scope of the work, and build it properly.

With more than four decades of hands-on experience, Mark brings both the knowledge of the company's history and a clear view of where it is going. He remains closely involved in the work and continues to guide Lloyd's Woodworking as the next generation of the DuBois family becomes part of the business.

For Mark, carrying the company forward means preserving the workmanship and reliability Lloyd's has been known for since 1969 while giving clients more options in custom furniture, architectural woodworking, restoration, replication, and one-of-a-kind projects.

It's a practical Massachusetts approach to the trade: listen carefully, solve the problem, do the work right, and build something that will last.

Nick DuBois

Third-Generation Craftsman and Custom Furniture Specialist

Nick DuBois

Nick DuBois represents the third generation of the DuBois family at Lloyd's Woodworking. As the son of Mark DuBois, Nick grew up around the business, learning firsthand what goes into quality woodworking, careful restoration, and building pieces meant to last.

He strengthened that hands-on experience through vocational training in metal fabrication and welding. His education also included performing live blacksmithing demonstrations at fairs throughout Massachusetts, where he developed a deeper appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the skill required to turn raw materials into finished work.

After working in several manufacturing positions, Nick realized that routine production work wasn't enough for him. He wanted to design, create, and build complete pieces — work that required judgment, creativity, and attention to detail.

Today, Nick is helping Lloyd's Woodworking expand what it can offer while respecting the experience and reputation the company has built over the years. His goal is to give clients more options, including custom furniture, one-of-a-kind pieces, specialty woodworking, restoration, replication, and projects that can bring wood and metal together.

Nick specializes in custom furniture designed around the client's space, needs, and personal style. His combination of formal trade training, manufacturing experience, and a lifetime spent around the family business gives him a practical understanding of both how a piece should look and how it needs to be built.

For Nick, the next generation of Lloyd's Woodworking means preserving the craftsmanship the company is known for while continuing to explore new designs, materials, and possibilities for its clients.
